Scrambled eggs on toast!
February 17, 2009
Marchmont street, the little unknown family home of funny man and icon Kenneth Williams, who once lived above the family barber shop, still a hairdressers today (CV Hair), until his best friend, Joe Orton called around once to many for his dads liking - and a fledgling takes his flight.
Greasy spoon, family cafe, pit stop, re-fuel, catch up, people watch, eat, enjoy, more tea, formica, lost london, feed me, spaghetti, yum yum...
Bin men, council workers, IT consultants, nurses, firemen, students, dentist's, cabies, locals my mates and me.
K.C. is spot on, the lady who owns, or runs Valtaros is such a star, I'm not big on toast or beans - and always ask for a small portion, (half the beans & half the toast) when having my hangover cure or sometimes it's just pure laziness, hate washing up, and I hate having my plate crowded, puts me off my food, Never a problem at Valtaros.
The food is of a standard that is reflected in the price, but the service is priceless - Small bench and stool eatery with outside seating, 'to watch the world go by', busy at peak periods and always happy to serve you. It's not my local, it's our neighbourhood local - lucky me.
