Magic little pub....!!
June 12, 2010
A great unspoilt 'locals' pub - the real thing. On a recent visit to the nearby Hope Street Quarter for good food and theatre this tiny oasis of rowdy charm and tradition was recommended, and it was just the best!! The regulars were interestingly 'bohemian' to say the least and very friendly. The whole of the pub interior was welcoming and very tastefully decorated with some original prints of the next door Liverpool Philarmonic on display. The real 'cask ales' were in nice condition and presented just right ( I had a pint from "Liverpool Organic Brewery" - a styrian bitter! ) There were also some weird and wonderful european draught lagers, (the two or more) glasses of red, Malbec, sampled by my wife surpassed the earlier bottle round the corner in the restaurant - £30+ !! Great music and service too !!
Very recommended - will return again soon hopefully !!
