Love this place

5.0 out of 5.0

Just seen a couple of negative reviews for this salon and just had to add my positive comments.

My family are hairdressers so I'm very, very fussy about who cuts my hair. I've been coming here for years and am always happy with my cut. Have only ever had good manicures etc in the beauty salon too.

I agree with the reviewer who said that the salon is a lovely place to be - very light, airy, calm, nice, professional staff, good coffee...

Great Feeling

You know when you have spent years being unhappy with your hair.....One of my friends got me some gift vouchers for Andrew Collinge last Christmas. I booked to go for a hair restyle and colour and have never looked back. The flagship salon in Castle Street is bright, airy, contemporary and chic. The reception staff are friendly and welcoming and my stylist Kelly is helpful, understanding and great at cutting hair. The little extras like the manicure as your colours work, the delicious coffee and the bang up to date mags all add to the greatest pampering experience.

Disappointing Hair Cut

1.0 out of 5.0

June 11, 2008

I went to Andrew Collinge in Liverpool on impulse for a hair cut. It was a big mistake. The hair dresser was very pleasant but totally ruined my hair.
I had been growing it and was a bit frustrated by the length. She suggested that a graduated bob would be a good idea.It sounded good and I went along with it.
However, once she started cutting she told me that she 'didn't agree with cutting curly hair in straight lines' which worried me somewhat.
I was left with a hair cut far shorter than I expected. That was 10 weeks ago and its grown a little but is very wonky due to the 'not cutting in straight lines'. Its going to take ages to grow out.
I would advise anyone not to go to this branch of Andrew Collinge.

worst haircut ever

1.0 out of 5.0

Paid over £100 for cut and colour with style director in March 2008 - worst cut I have ever had. Was uneven and irregular and looked a complete mess. The blonde highlights I'd asked for were barely recognisable. I returned to have the shape corrected, but felt patronised by staff and was not given the option to be seen by an equivalent or more senior stylist. A junior stylist then chopped into it even more which resulted in a very minimal improvement. I lived with it for 10 weeks and have just had it cut at Barbara Daley - much better, more personal and professional service. The Art Director who cut it told me it was completely uneven (one side was half an inch longer than the other) and that it would take another couple of months for the full damage to be resolved. It now looks loads better, but is still not perfect thanks to the legacy of Andrew Collinge. Do not go here - I will certainly not be back.
