Itsu is a chain of Japanese restaurants that have emerged in recent times. The interior is very designer, with conveyor belts of sushi sliding past the glass shop front and little stools to perch on. The menu is a totally original mix of Japanese and European dishes. The plates are colour coded according to price. Itsu does not take reservations, but kindly asks their guests to entertain themselves in the bar area whilst waiting for a table.

Being blessed with working in Soho, I try a new place everyday for lunch, there are about ten gazillion still to go, but im getting there.

Went to Itsu today, and opted to sit inside. Its one of those conveyor belt styled sushi places where you grab whatever you fancy.

Felt like I was in the middle of the Toyota factory, where they have made every process as lean as possible, with every step boldy adhering to the Kaizen philosophy. It's a bit too much of an automated process for my liking.

Although, given that i only have a short lunch and if I had to wait I would be pissed off, I guess thats needed. The sushi was pretty good too, I had a mixture of Tuna/Salmon and crab sushi, which I enjoyed... but wont be headed back any time soon.
