best bridal shop in SW London!

5.0 out of 5.0

I am so happy with the dress Elaine made me. I had visited lots of bridal shops and unfortunately found the staff snooty and clueless, and then I was recommended Tantrums and Tiaras. After my initial appointment I was so pleased to have met Elaine, she is very nice, gave me great stytle advice, and made me such a beautiful gown! It was a real pleasure to go to each of my fittings. It's a fantastic privately owned boutique offering great personal service, I totally recommend it!

I found Elaine charming, wonderful and really helpful with my wedding dress.

The end result was absolutely brillant and I got loads of compliments about my dress.

Elaine's son Scott also did my jewellery for my big day which matched my dress perfectly.

They were most helpful with everything.

well, I have to completely disagree with you I am afraid. The service I have received has been second to none. First class! Amazing attention to detail, very flexible, always willing to help, great prices, and a beautiful end result. I would encourage anybody to try this individual little shop.

Lovely shop with a lovely owner!

I never write on these things but I felt compelled! I'm currently having my dress made by Elaine and I couldnt have wished for a nicer dressmaker. I spent months going to just about every wedding dress shop in London and I found most were pushy, haughty and clueless about what might suit me. I literally stumbled across Tantrums and Tiaras in a last ditch attempt to try and find a dress which suited my frame. As soon as I walked in I noticed how friendly Elaine was and she left me to browse in peace as appose to the hard sell you get in every other place. I'm pleased to say that I've found a dress I feel really happy in and each time I see Elaine for a fitting its been great. I cant wait for the big day!

1 out of 2 dresses...

I take back my positive review! Yes, it's true that my friend looked amazing at her wedding and her dress was wonderful, but she's since told me that she had a terrible last-minute panic when the dressmaker totally messed up her bridesmaid's dress and she had to find a new one. When it comes to a wedding, 1 out of 2 dresses just isn't good enough. Shame though - I was convinced this place must be great after seeing my friend's dress.

When living in Putney I always stopped to admire the lovely dresses in this window - so when the time came to find my own I came here, and wasn't disappointed. Great customer service, beautiful style and fit, and good value for money compared to other places I researched.

Disappointing

I originally wrote a very good review on this site as the beginning of my experience at this shop was amazing. However, as it got nearer to the wedding, it all went downhill. She took weeks to reply to calls (always by email and wouldn't call back.) My dress wasn't finished until a week before the wedding (I have started my fittings a good nine months earlier)and my sisters bridesmaids dress was a complete disaster. It was only finished the week of the wedding and didnt fit at all. It was so tight around the arms that if she had moved at all, it would have ripped across the back. It was made for a size 14 woman and my younger sister who is a size 10 tried it on and it was too tight for her too. We sent it back and she offered to change it, but with two days to go before the wedding it was too late. She refused us a refund and we are about to take legal action against her.

In her defense, my wedding dress was beautiful and she did an excellent job on it. It's a shame that it all went so wrong with the rest of it.
