Kebab's Your Uncle

If Bosphorus isn't on your Top 10 Kebabs list, that can only be because you haven't tried it. I didn't try it for quite a while - South Ken doesn't seem like the location for great kebabs for some reason - and now I regret all of the months that went by without me eating here. As a testament to the quality, the walls are covered with over 30 years of rave reviews from customers from all over the world, including many London cabbies, someone who drove from Oxford just for the chicken kebab, Turkish people that should know a good kebab, and a surfer dude from California that loved the "grindage" (translation - grindage [gryn-dij]: food, in surfer-tongue).
Everything at Bosphorus is incredibly good, fresh, cheap, the portions are more than generous, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The spicy kofte kebab (made with lamb minced fresh on site) is so delicious, smoky, and affordable, it almost satisfies my longing for cheap Mexican tacos. You you have to be hungry (or simply unwilling to stop eating) to finish a single order. They also make some vegetarian options, although I haven't tried them myself. The decor is functional at best (what you might expect from a kebab restaurant), but is very clean and they squeeze in more tables than looks possible from the street. Also popular with the late night post-drinking crowd.
