Armageddon for Cheese Lovers!

5.0 out of 5.0

June 19, 2008

I stopped by Neal's Yard for the usual tasting of cheeses during a trip to Borough Market this afternoon and the cheese monger behind the counter fed me a taste of Cheshire cheese. "This is the oldest cheese in England. It's in the good book, you know, Cheshire is," the man said as he held out a small sliver of slightly crumbly orange cheese balanced on the end of his knife. "Oh?" I murmed, greedily eating the slice. "That's right," he responds. "In the book of revelations it says that after Cheshire cheese disappears from this Earth, God will come and deliver His Final Judgment."
"Really?" I asked. "In that case I'll have some of that!"

Yes indeed there is a bit of a whiff about the place but hey if you cant take the stink get out of the cheese shop! A big variety of cheeses from the UK and Ireland and they are always doing a deal on som cheese or other. Its open 6 days a week, which is nice.

Cheese lovers paradise

Neal's Yard is a must for cheese lovers and given the fact it's in Borough Market you can't avoid but stop in for some samples after food shopping.

The staff are always friendly and knowledgable and know exactly what to offer you depending on what your needs are for the cheese, especially if taking to/for a dinner party.
