We went up to a music festival in Scotland over the weekend, and needed a place to crash close to the train station. Premier Inn was a good cheap option a short walk from Glasgow Central train station.
I was very impressed by the standard for a 3 star hotel. A huge double bed and flat screen TV with freeview. Clean but small bathroom was adequate. We arrived late but had no issues checking in. Indeed we left the festival earlier than planned (due to lack of sleep and knee high mud) and stayed another night at Premier Inn, turning up at 1am without a reservation and having no issues getting a room. ALso the area around Glasgow Central train station is suprisingly pleasant, not grungy like around many train stations. A few little restaurants and pubs close by for a quick bite/drink.
