Lovely atmosphere

I always feel like I'm missing something here. The staff are so lovely, and the pasta is pretty good but damn I wish it wasn't so oily and they had a few more exciting things on the menu!

I love the atmosphere, it's very cosy and the perfect place to be for a quiet romantic mid-week dinner.

Lovely pastas, simple but enjoyable. The cook is Italian but the place is owned by a West Indian/Russian couple. The restaurant is decorated with art works of the son and memorabelia of mother and daughter's stage careers. Lovely atmosphere - worth a visit just for that. But cash only and no bank close by so come prepared. After stop for a cocktail at Ruby Sequoia across the road.

Great pasta, great service

The Ripe Tomato is my favourite neighbourhood Italian joint. They excel at pastas - try the lobster linguine - but also serve up pizzas and other meat dishes. The atmosphere of the place is always fun with low lighting and candles. The service is family run and really friendly.

One thing to note is they don't accept credit cards, so be sure to bring cash.

Also need to book on weekends as they are always full.
