3-star general

Firstly the best things about Bluebird: the ambience and service are top class and it's a lovely surround in which to have dinner.

However, the food isn't really up to much. It's well done, but not that exciting, especially the vegetarian offer. My fellow carnivorous diner was similarly unimpressed.

One little thing that upset me was that the menu didn't always list the full ingredients :( I got a dessert which on the menu was "poached pear, star anise, cinnamon ice-cream" but came covered in chocolate sauce, which I hate. Not cool guys, I would have ordered something else.

Cool place for romantic diner with nice ok food. Pricey for the food but it’s all about the atmosphere.
Not my typical kind of place, but one of my friends recommended it to me and we weren’t disappointed. The building has great history which always triggers interesting discussions. Other than that, well, it’s on the Kings road and it can’t avoid being posh in places.
I also went there for office parties, which is well suited for this kind of events.

Pleasant surprise

Popped into the bar at Bluebird over Easter and was pleasantly suprised. Given its location, I had presumed it would be full of posh annoying people (I do not get on with posh annoying people!) called Henry drinking £100 cocktails while trading on the Japanese markets via their Blackberries... in fact what I foudn was a really nice bar, with amazingly funky decor, cocktails at less than £10 a pop (which is hardly cheap, but not as bad as I had thought) and v friendly staff. Will be back for more when I am next in the area
