I thought it was well worth the hype - the menu was wonderful and the food divine. I really loved being able to see the hustle in the kitchen! Undistracting though, with lovely ambient lighting and music in the rest of the restaurant. They've got the atmosphere and fit out absolutely spot on.
Only downer was the service. We had a fairly long wait to be seated despite being on time for our booking, and mid meal the staff were... staff... where are the staff???
I'd definitely head back for the fabulous pork and groovy feel of the place.

The Electric is a great brunch place or a evening cocktail meetup in the 'hood. Saturdays are especially fun to sit and stare out into the mess of Portabello road marketplace. Nice eggs benedict and mojitos.
