Adorned with warm wood floors, The Waterway is a child-friendly gastro-pub boasting helpful staff that serves a variety of dishes influenced by Mediterranean cuisine such as rare beef, roast dinners and devilish puddings. Terrace seating is provided, and a riverside view of the canal boats provides a popular pastime.

Nice if you can get a seat

3.0 out of 5.0

October 09, 2008

From the ashes of a very dodgy spit'n sawdust working men's pub, The Waterway has risen to become one of the best bar-restaurants in W9. The location is hard to beat, being slap bang on the Regents Canal, overlooking the dilapidated but still impressive St Mary Magdalene Church opposite, and it's within a short stroll of the tube station on Warwick Avenue (made famous in Duffy's song of the same name). The deck outside is perfect in summer, if you can get a seat among the regular throng of "Media Vale Luvvies" and wannabees, and in the evening the restaurant is very welcoming. The food isn't as special as it could be, given the kudos of the location - one of the wealthiest parts of London - but it's a nice venue, the decor is appealing and the bouncers keep the kids from the local estate at bay. What more could you ask for of an upmarket local watering hole?

A terrace overlooking the canal. Even the suits from Psddington have found it but it is still home to the beautiful people.
Good restaurant as well.
Can be crowded.

Top terrace in the sun

I really love this place in summer although it does attract lots of trendy people who come to look beautiful in their shades and drink cocktails. But the staff are really nice and the food is great. The BBQ on Sundays in summer is popular.
