A week after our bed was delivered, it still smells of paint and can't be used. The room has been kept aired all this time and the smell is still present. Assembly by deliverymen was rushed and rather sloppy. One of the slats was cracked (as we later discovered). The others were attached with screws placed in very irregular places, often driven too deep into the wood, causing splinters. The paint job at the factory could have been better. There are missed areas around joints, the paint on metal brackets cracked and flaked off when deliverymen were assembling the bed. Overall, not impressed. The ugly smell of paint a week after delivery makes me consider reporting this company to a consumer watchdog dealing with health and safety of consumer products.

Trip to Madison - On a recent stay to New York I visited a small independent hotel and their beds were amazing. Since then I've been trying to track down something similar in the UK, which led me to the Madison Bed. A very similar design to the hotel, and more comfotable as it was new.

Mattress hunt in London - I recently purchased a mattress at Taurus Beds in London, they aren't near where I live in London but they have some good reviews on-line. I had been searching for a comfortable and reasonably prices mattress for a while but not being a huge priority it took a while.
Taurus staff are really helpful and they actually do what they say they are going to do, without too much of the overkill on the sales pitch. Really pleased with my purchase.
