Best pizzas in London

5.0 out of 5.0

August 19, 2008

I tried Firezza last week, and was pretty much bowled over by the quality, taste and presentation of a fastfood that has long been cheapened and bastardised by popular restaurant and takeaway outlets. Firezza, on the otherhand, has brought real class and finesse to a true icon of Italian food.

Delicious, real foodie toppings including tiger prawns, goats cheese, porcini mushrooms and Italian truffle oil make these pretty much the Rolls Royce of takeaway and delivery pizzas. Made to traditional Neapolitan recipes and baked to perfection in wood fired ovens, they're sold by the metre and you can even change toppings every 1/4 of a metre too.

As far a phone orders go, Firezza are OK and friendly enough. Delivery from City branch was a little over the 30 minute buffer period, but my order came piping hot and ready to be ravaged, so I can't really complain.

In terms of the calibre of pizzas in the takeaway/delivery sector, Firezza are unsurpassable. For such a simply prepared dish, its amazing how simple fresh ingredients can really speak volumes in terms of taste. I think it's upped the bar in takeaway/delivery food - it's a shame all pizzas can't be quite like these.
