I've been to the Tate many times but never made it up to the 7th floor maybe because i assumed the restaurant would be a stuffy overpriced affair but it's actually a calm open space where you can buy a coffee for two pounds and stand, Italian espresso bar style, at the counter overlooking what has to be one of the best and (for two pounds) cheapest views in London.

Go to the 7th floor. I didn't try the food but for a hot drink and beautiful view it is well worth legging it up the extra few flights...or take the elevator.
