tasty food but no desert!

3.0 out of 5.0

December 08, 2011

The food was great, after the water explained why the chicken was pink (it has been grilled then boiled).
The place got pretty noisy when it filled up with people and as they have no desert I will only rate this place 3 out of 5.

What??? NO DESSERT?

3.0 out of 5.0

Busaba Eathai is set out in the Wagamama style, so not great for romantic meals, but a good spot to catch a quick bite to eat or have a lunch that isn't a sandwich. However, the Store Street branch does have a nice little private room which would be good for parties of 8ish.

The food is pretty good but tastes a little, erm, MSG-ed (that weird aftertaste). However, for a quick lunch I quite like going here.

Update 3/3/09: They don't have any desserts :( How can a place not have anything sweet, not even ice cream or something?

Not great for vegetarians

2.0 out of 5.0

Busaba Eathai is a friendly place with large, square communal wood tables and a long menu with surprisingly few vegetarian options for a Thai restaurant. There are some dishes with a decent amount of spice, which is always good to find, but I tried the pad thai -- a signature thai dish anywhere you go -- and found it quite bland. Maybe the meat or seafood versions are better.

Quick Thai Fix

4.0 out of 5.0

October 08, 2007

Busaba Eathai is great for a quick fix of modern Thai food. The dishes are light and flavour-full, with some super spicy ones lurking in the menu.
Perfect for hangovers or if you are in need of a little pick me up.
Favourites include the prawns with Betel leaves - a sort of DIY dish where you get to roll your own tasty bites - the crab pad thai and chilli cod.
They have a short selection of wines and beers, some delicious smoothies and very tasty teas served with moreish coconut biscuits.
Services is quick but friendly, and this is also a great place to come if you are dining alone.
I prefer the Store Street branch to the one in Soho as it's usually quieter being tucked away from the main drag.
