My happy place...

You ever wanted to live on a mystical planet where all your favourite choons play day and night and DJs and salespeople are smiling, benevolent creatures whose sole purpose in life is to open your ears to new sounds and rare beats without making you feel like a goose for not really knowing how to operate a turntable properly? Well, I have searched the galaxy for such a place and found it at Sounds of the Universe. I love music. Hiphop, soul, funk, reggae, and strange unclassifiable beats in particular. Such things comprise the soundtrack to my life. But I am not a DJ. And I perfer CDs to vinyl. Hanging offences at many serious record stores. But at Sounds of the Universe, I never cop distainful 'You don't belong here, blondie' looks from the sales staff or attitude from other music connoisseurs. In fact, I feel confident to ask questions. What's Madlib's latest release? I'm digging Flying Lotus; who else sounds like him? And if I feel like a silent browse and a snap, mystery purchase, I know I can always reach for the recommended releases. I've never been disappointed yet.
