Compact bar at the top of the Tate Modern. Unless you are eating a meal, you're restricted to the window area where there are only a few high stools - hover stealthily, and be quick to nab one of the these and you're sorted. However, even if you don't manage to grab a stool, the view more than makes up for it. The huge floor to ceiling glass windows allow for an expansive view across the City of London - a lovely way to enjoy a small glass of something. Cocktails are served from early evening only, but a small half bottle of champagne served in an ice bucket brings escape from the hustle and bustle below. Not a place to linger (unless you steal a chair from one of the awe struck tourists), but great for a little time out and remind yourself how beautiful the London skyline is.
