Ales and comfort.
March 27, 2009
First off, it may have 'cafe' in the name, and they do serve food, but it's more about the beer and comfort than the cafe side.
It's hidden along the walkway from the Mailbox to brindleyplace, and can only fit in about 30 people in (very snug). In the summer months, you can spill out onto the outside tables.
For me, it's all about the handpull ales that they serve (there is heineken for those who want it). They are changed regular, as well as some proper ciders. There are also quite a lot of bottled beers as well.
I love whiling away the afternoons in summer with a book here, just make sure you don't fall into the canal after too many drinks. In winter times, and evenings, there is a proper fire going. You may have to fight for those seats though.
