The Sanctuary is a great place to go for lunch (I don't believe it is open in the evenings). It has a unique atmosphere and location. It is part of St. Nicholas's church in Cromwell square. There are lovely great big windows along one side of the restaurant meaning it is really bright, and rather like a conservatory. In the summer there are also tables outside. The place itself is very relaxing with friendly attentive staff. It is also very popular so I always book if I am going to go there.

The food is excellent and fairly priced. You have a range of choices from soup and sandwiches through to pasta and salads. All of them are recommended. My personal favourite is the goats cheese salad with black olives.

I wouldn't recommend it for children or a rowdy lunchtime out. But for a relaxing pleasant lunchtime it cannot be faulted
