Deptford Properly-an organic oasis

This hidden away gem is just off the top of Deptford High Street, and is only open on market days (Weds/Fri/Sat), but what a find it is. Run by an enthusiastic arts collective, its walls are covered with gaudy homemade ephemera, as well as some nice touches like chess boards and adverts for local community groups. Children seem welcome (there were a number running around when I was there), and the staff are some of the nicest locals I've met. Whilst not possessing a huge menu, the food I had was healthy and delicious, and the calm atmosphere is deceptive in whisking you away from the hustle and bustle of Deptford and the A2.
A must.
