Following my original post I was contacted by Wedgewood and accused of giving false information, so I re-phrase as follows-
1) After a delay of approximately 4 months beyond the completion date, wedgewood didn’t finish the job and I had to contract new builders to complete the task.
2) Wedgewood had supposedly finished the electrical work but never provided me with the electrical test certificates after I requested them. I therefore commissioned a registered electrician to 'sign of' the job, but was told that in his 20 year career as an electrician he had never seen such awful work and labeled the job as 'dangerous'. Consequently, the entire house was re-wired. (I am able to provide a signed report and photos as proof if anyone wishes to see them)
3) After being informed that the boiler could no longer be located in the bathroom (after it had been installed) Wedgewood re-located it to the kitchen. However, as the job wasn’t finished I got a Corgi registered plumber in to finish the job. It then turns out that the boiler could be installed in the bathroom if you understood the building regulations and was once again relocated. (I felt that there was a complete lack of understanding and knowledge of building regulations throughout the project)
4) I was never informed of purchases and was constantly sending things back. For example doors, windows, paint, pavers, etc...
5) The health and safety standards on the site were, I am told, non existent and the tools illegal.
6) I could go on...
In my opinion and from my experience I cannot recommend strongly enough that you do not use this company. If anyone wishes to contact me I am more than happy to provide further information and I only go to these lengths to discourage potential consumers on the back of my personal experience.
