Farm Fresh London

4.0 out of 5.0

May 15, 2008

Imagine that you are visiting a friend who owns a big sprawling farm. Your friend has a knack for making delicious cakes and wants to serve you tasty food made from ingredients grown and raised on the farm. Now imagine that this farm is actually a stone's throw from Canary Wharf, and you have an image of the Mudchute Kitchen.

The food is rustic and delightful (check out the farm fresh eggs with homemade beans for breakfast), there are toys scattered around for kids to play with, there are horses trotting by as you eat, everyone is very friendly and welcoming, and there isn't even a hint of pretentiousness or trendiness about the place. Don't even think of missing the baked goods. Afterwards, you can wander the farm, say hi to the goats and pigs, pet a sheep or two wandering around the park, and wave at the llamas. And this is all just a few minutes from the DLR and within easy reach of central London -- simply amazing.
