I’m an avid cook and a frequenter of Farmer’s Markets. I was spoiled when we lived in Marylebone, having one of the bigger neighbourhood Farmer’s Markets at our doorstep. Yet the Islington Farmer’s Market, although on a smaller scale, provides a good selection of seasonal fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, fish, cakes, breads and flowers/plants. I’m really into buying what’s fresh and available locally right now after buying the new Acorn House cookbook (where he lists out what you should by each month and recipes to compliment). The Islington Farmer’s Market is a plethora of bright colours and wonderful, top quality, items. You can even get some obscure herbs like stinging nettle or edible flowers (which are great in salads). Recently I’ve been gobbling up their scallops, small globe artichokes, purple sprouting broccoli, rhubarb, tomatoes and asparagus.

In my next life, I want to run an Otto Lenghi or Acorn House type restaurant.
