Sorry Veli (Shop owner in Islington), but I'm afraid to say that Pera sh*ts all over your brilliant kebabs...
Pera offer coal-cooked/smoked shish-only kebabs. Chicken breast and Lamb are the only 2 options, funnily enough, and the meat is extremely fresh. They don't even come in pita....they're wrapped in a fresh, thin, turkish bread! Ingenious!
Also conscious of patrons putting on weight and the popularity of size-zero diets, Pera will make the kebabs without garlic and chilli sauce unless you specifically request it.
They will, however, add fresh onion unless you request otherwise. So for anyone hoping to cop-off with someone at Cargo, around the corner, you will need to plan ahead.
The menu offers a lot more than the standard chicken or lamb kebab but to be honest I've actually never read it. I'm assuming it comprises of different varieties of kebab i.e. chicken with rice and salad, mixed grill etc. This gives you the option of dining in or take away. Prices vary depending on what you choose to do. It's very clean inside and the ever-classy 90's black-steel framed, glass-top tables set it aside from the typical white plastic outdoor furniture crap you normally have to sit on at other places.
Depending on how drunk you are, I'd more or less advise you to go for the take-away option. The main reason being that the smoke coming from the coal stinks out the entire place and your clothes.
I give this place the double thumbs-up and will go so far as saying that it's the best kebab(s) I've ever had!
