As Suffolk farmers, we were frustrated that consumers had limited access to much of the fantastic food produced locally. Spurred into action by this apparent gap in the market, the concept of a showcase for quality local food with provenance began to take shape and the Suffolk Food Hall was born.

Since opening in May 2007, the Suffolk Food Hall has quickly established itself as a centre of excellence for local food. We’ve brought the best possible food specialists we could find under one roof

The Suffolk Food Hall is great. It has a butchers, bakers, fishmongers and grocery area. The food is all local and mostly organic and tastes fantatic. The Oak smoked salmon is something we buy most visits there as it is so good.

You would think that would be enough - but the place also has a restaurant for those special occasions and a coffee/snack bar for the less special occasions. Both have outside seating and have great views over to the river Orwell.

You would think that would be enough - BUT it also has a nursery attached to it, with a great selection of plants - all in great condition.

You would think that would be enough - BUT they usually have some art on display as well!

You can spend at least a couple of hours here sampling the food, browsing through all the different things to buy, having a meal and looking at the view.
