Probably, most of you won't find this place interesting...but if you want to feel some pathos or if you want to escape from overcrowded West End- visit the place at leat for a cup of tea.
The Victory Services Club is first of all a hotel, located not very far from Marble Arch Station. Apart from rooms, it has a nice restaurant and club open to 'All Ranks of the British Armed Forces (Royal Navy and Marines, Army and the Royal Air Force) and of all Allied Countries, Commonwealth and NATO Members'.
Obviously, I don't have a membership but I visited the place as a mental martyr (it's possible).
The space is really huge and has a small library with many books devoted to history. There are lots of elements coming from the First and Second World War (for example posters encouraging to join the army) so you can enjoy your drink (not very expensive) feeling like in a museum. Older people gathering there are more than happy to speak about the past so you can broaden your knowledge at the same time.
One lady told me that time was thief of youth and I'd be old one day...I think she was right:)
