I used to go to the Canteen alone when I was living in that part of town on nights when I was working too hard, I always left feeling like I ate like a King! I am vegetarian so I was very happy with the vegetarian menu, and being a student their prices were pretty appealing too. A great distance from the theater on one side and the pubs around Angel on the other side, I think the Banana Tree Canteen is a clean, simple place with good Thai food. I look forward to going back!

Okay canteen dining

A modest canteen style restaurant with reasonable priced food done to a decent standard. However the menu is slightly confused compared to something like Busabi and is light on the rice dishes.

Has fresh juice, though! Got to love that.

Modern Asian Cafeteria

We just had lunch here, and it wasn't too bad. It was kind of nice. This location just opened, and it's already a bit busy during lunch time. The decor reminds me of a modern cafeteria. They have backless benches and low hanging lights.

The food is moderately priced and tasty. I had a spicy stir fry and I've had a lot of spicy stir fry, and it was pretty good. Their portions are a very nice size. Enough to make you very full, but not stuffed. Next time I will have to try one of their noodle soups, the bowls looked gi-normous!
