Always a bit cynical when a bar suddenly gets a flurry of very positive, similar reviews all from people who've never submitted one before!

But I can confirm that the staff here are very friendly and it has a nice vibe to it. I've been to Bar Social on and off for years (it used to be called the Keybar and something else before that).

The description in one of the reviews of it having 3 intimate floors is correct if by intimate they meant "small": the top 'floor' is a mezzanine and you couldn't fit more than a handful of people up there.

The bottom floor is in the basement - and can be a great place if there is a group of you and you want to be silly.

The time I most recently went there was for someone's "welcome home" party. The staff were really nice and accommodating, allowing us to reserve some space and not minding us putting up balloons and random silly posters.

It's a great, unpretentious, smart venue. Gets quite busy at the weekends as you would imagine, but a good place to meet up for an after work drink. It's a bit off the normal beaten track - ie not Northcote Road or Battersea Rise, so mid-week it's a good option if you want to get a seat and have a bit of chat with your companions.

I like it here.

It's a friendly venue with a great outside area. Drinks are reasonably priced and the crowd is always friendly. There's a real mix of people and I've never had a bad time here.The bar staff are on the ball and literally fall over themselves to make u welcome and feel special.

Very Social Bar

What a delightful change to the norm this bar is. I went there on my own for a drink expecting to be in a corner with my thoughts. The place is so friendly; it’s as if the people there are your friends as soon as you walk in, so unusual for London these days. It was a pure pleasure to feel so welcome by the other customers as well as the staff who made me feel like they had known me for ages.

The process were reasonable too which is another rarity in this part of town, no mortgage style prices for the cocktails, and a happy hour almost everyday according to the board outside.

Can’t wait to go back now, they have casino nights, and even belly dancing though think will leave that to the girls! Real oasis of a place in a bleak desert.

I can’t stand fireworks so I talked a couple of friends into going for a drink last night, thought we would try somewhere new rather than the usual haunts. So we decided to give a bar in lavender hill a try, bar social,

We got there and were stunned, the place is amazing, they had a casino last night so we got our drinks, a huge selection there, plus cocktails which we decided to try, they were really well mixed and tasted great. The casino night was good, a croupier was there and we all played a few hands, it wasn’t too heavy so was a really good laugh.

The staff were so friendly and helpful as well, even came, and played a hand with us as well as making us feel really welcome. The whole atmosphere was really friendly and welcoming so we had a really good night.

Definitely a good find we agreed, will go back, I would recommend the place to anyone.

Haloween fun

I hate Halloween nights out so when my friend asked to go to her party on Halloween I used every excuse to not go, especially as it was over in Clapham & I live in east London.
Anyway I got nagged into it so went, I got there & the place was kicking., like packed, my friend had got a basement room there, they didn’t even charge room hire apparently, and it was packed, on all three floors, it was a real buzz with everyone having a great time, some great costumes too.

So I threw myself into the party what a great place, the place has a vibe so contagious that even I will go back again.

Everyone drunk on beers and cocktails and not one fight, even the staffs are friendly & helpful, if only we had bar social where I live.

Bar Social is a good place to go in clapham if u like a fun night out, it looks rather small from outside but once u go in its actually much bigger. Very reasonable prices huge list of drinks to choose from, the cocktails are so lush its hard just to stick with intending to only try one or two. The bar staff and managment were very freindly and made me and my bf feel very welcome. Before we left we noted the happy hour times in our phones so we can go back soon to try more cocktails at credit crunching prices lol.

I have been to Bar Social three times in the past month and have always been impressed. It has a laidback atmosphere and you're never hurried to order from the huge cocktail list. Even though it has it's busier times the staff are always polite and attentive and ready to make reccomendations.

The music is fine, never too loud,and the decor creates a warm cosy enviroment. On my next visit I intend to take a group of workmates and show them whats so great about this little gem.

It was Friday night, my flat mate &, me wanted to go out somewhere we could have a good time and get a bit ‘merry’. We had both had tough weeks at work, crunch was the right word. We looked online for local places and liked the sound of Bar Social.

So we made our way there all dressed up. What a great night, we got there and the place had a really friendly feel, and atmosphere. The staff were great, the owner even intoroduced himself. The cocktails were brilliant and we tried as many as we couold. The music was really eclectic and made a really good change from the usual cheesy pop or mainstream stuff you usually hear. It seems a great place and I am not at all surprised it was so busy, it is set out on three floors so very spacious.

We set out to have a good time & get merry and thanks to bar social & the staff there we exceeded that, go there I definitely will be a regular
