The Fox & Anchor originates from the late Victorian era and has been serving the traders of Smithfields Market for years.

Now lovingly restored with mahogany doors, etched glass and heavy brass, the pub serves great food and a range of real ales.

This pub is pretty much my favourite around Smithfields. First off it's super old, I don't know how old but the interior is all wood and it has one of those nice bars that they hang pint glasses from.

The beer selection is really good - they have loads of Meantime including the India Pale Ale and the London Porter which both come in wine bottles - Sierra Nevada, a few St Peters and 3 ales on tap.

Last night I went and ended up having oysters which I thought were super reasonably priced and very very tasty.

There's also a couple of tables outside if you want to smoke.
