Inamo London Reviews

Interactive dining fun - Went to Inamo for lunch after planning to go for ages, and absolutely recommend the place. I couldn't get over the interactive touch screen tables, which as the reviewers below have explained, are where you look at the menu and order your food (eliminating the need for a waiter, but they're on hand if you have any questions). You can also play games, check out transport options and change the background of your table/computer screen. The food arrives exactly 15 minutes after you click your mouse, so the waitress suggested not ordering a starter and dessert at the same time, because they'd come together. The food was good - absolutely no complaints. I especially liked the chicken betel leaf starter dish.

For January and February, if you work in Soho, you get 30% off for lunch. Take a visiting card - and enjoy your dining experience (much more an experience than just a meal, I say!!)

Update, April 2009: I went a couple of times again - and I suppose I should have been more vigilant but I booked both times and mentioned clearly about being eligible for the 30% discount which they agreed to, but they charged me full price and I forgot to keep an eye on that bit when the bill came. When I emailed them, they didn't reply. So you'd be well warned to check your bill when you go. Sad, but there it is.

Very interesting, great food & svc - Inamo is a really fun place to eat. The table is actually a digital projection of menus and nice ambient backgrounds.

You use a little circular trackpad to your right to move the mouse to select menus and food items. It’s all very lively and fun. You don’t directly interact with waiters, you select what you want and it magically turns up, promptly too.

The food was really good — creative and tasty. The bill is not a surprise because the menu has a tally as you go — total table cost and your own cost.

Inamo’s not the cheapest in the world — mains average at £12-£14 but I got a great veggie pumpkin curry for £9. Desserts are small but perfectly formed. Sake drinks are interesting.

Definitely worth checking Inamo out for a novel and fun evening!

Techno Asian Fusion - Great Fun - Super fun, technology ruled Japanese restaurant where you change the table top design, play games, check out whats happening in the kitchen through a webcam and order from the menu all through a computer and mouse on the table. The food is great too - comes from ex Nobu chef, so its not just a faddy fun one off, I'd go back and back for the Salmon Creviche and Black Cod.
