Every time I visit Dose I get a fantastic coffee as well as a delicious selection of sandwiches, my personal favourite is the Salami and Pesto, superb! All this plus friendly and personal service. Keep up the good work!

Disappointed

2.0 out of 5.0

Have visited this little shop several times and was very good when it opened. Although I like the food and coffee I now seem to come away feeling disappointed with the customer service. Not as friendly as when they first opened. They look stressed and when other customers get served before me and they've arrive after me it's very annoying when you are in a rush in the morning! This has happened a few times. 'Is it me?' I'm left asking myself and leave feeling disappointed. Sorry Dose you need to pay more attention to your customers!

Where Coffee is Respected

5.0 out of 5.0

If you are looking for coffee brewed with passion, you needn't go any further! Dose Espresso is a real shot of flavours. Service is very friendly.
Only improvement could be the seating area... perhaps tall tables or a counter along the windows? But if I say that, it's only because I wish it was cosier to hang out there longer!

One of the best coffees in London without a shadow of a doubt, great service and lovely food. Well worth going out of your way for, and if you are lucky enough to work/live nearby then you may consider your search for great coffee officially over!

for the serious coffee drinker

4.0 out of 5.0

it's nice to find a place that take their coffee seriously (a great antidote to the chains), plus the food is pretty good too.

i'm a little lazy, but I do go out of my way for for a coffee here which says much.

it's a shame they don't have a bigger seating area, which is a bit cramped and reminds me of a cab office. this is my only fault and reason i can't give 5 stars.

check it out.

Dose is the Dope

5.0 out of 5.0

I try to go every morning as I walk my g/f to work. If she is running late and doesn't have time for coffee it gives me a difficult choice. Well, not that difficult, Dose wins everytime.
I hope they expand and get little Dose embassies all around London...
I also like the enviro leanings and the fresh food. £1.50 for a big bowl of porridge is a great start to a credit crunched day.

Marching to the beat in barbican

5.0 out of 5.0

April 15, 2009

While visiting the Man with the Cap in Whitecross St market (red umbrellas for all of those not in the know of Gwilym Davies) I was fortunate enough to come see the crew at Dose Espresso in Barbican.

All the great things you've heard are true- fantastic food, great service and coffee to write blogs about. Never need to worry about space in a downtown cafe where every centimetres at a premium- the cafe is so cosy and still with seperate spaces to avoid bumping lattes with the fortunate souls who live so close to Dose.

Truly another drum to be beaten loudly.

Food, drinks, service... all great! Icon_featured_sm

I went to Dose today primarily because I'd read rave reviews about their coffee. What I didn't expect was to have one of the best sandwiches I'd ever eaten in my life. And I should know; I've lived off sandwiches for the past 20 years of so, and still haven't grown sick of them. I tried the milano salami, goat cheese, sun blush tomato, basil and rocket on wholemeal bread (the very last one, as it turned out) made by Nicola, and it was awesome. The combination of fillings, and the bread... all incredibly delicious.

The coffee, as everyone has written, is good. My experience was tinged somewhat as it later transposed I'd been given a latte instead of the flat white I'd ordered, leading me to wonder why my beverage was so milky. Still, as barista Steve said, I need to come back and try a proper flat white some time soon!

I'm giving this four stars instead of five as the place is a wee bit small. Still, this is an incredibly warm and cheerful place, from the handwritten paper menu behind the counter to the colourful drinks menu to the wonderful service... definitely a great addition to the City.

This little shop has just opened across the road from where I work. The coffee is velvety smooth and a welcome break from the working day. The service is friendly and atmosphere good. Would love them to have a bigger space to be able to drink my coffee there.

Double Espresso

I can comfortably say that Dose does the finest espresso I've tasted in London. Made with care and knowledge. The pesto toast is also fantastic. Deserves every success.
