A tasty place

The former owners of this fish and chip shop used to call it the Tasty Plaice, which prompted my title. I used to like buying from them because they were always cheerful and as I learnt ready to chat a bit. I get the impression that they may have gone back to Cyprus but whatever has happened to them, I wish them well.

The present owner is very nice too, but quieter and from the very nice pictures of Istanbul on the walls, I guess has come from there. He seems to take great care in cooking the fish to order, while you wait, so you don't get fish that has been sitting in the warmer for hours on end and getting rather tired, as with some fish and chip shops. It is lovely hot and fresh and worth waiting for.

There used to be some garden seats to sit on whilst waiting, but last time I was in their they were not there. Hopefully they will reappear, otherwise that could be a drawback for those who may be uncomfortable standing for too long. (I would increase my rating but for this aspect).

The chips are very nice, as well and at lunch times on school days, they seem to be very popular with the local pupils who, I am guessing, probably cannot get their fix of chips, (or fish and chips for that matter :-), so easily in school these days.
