I'm always here for the tasty pizza and footy matches upstairs! Its a great pub and as the night wears on there's a nice choice of single malts on the back bar. Oh yes!

My brother brought me here when I was down visiting him and I really enjoyed it. Real Ale on pump, a friendly atmos with locals of varying ages all mingling and some great tunes playing on the jukebox.

Enjoyed it so much that we came back the next day to watch some footy and try the pubs stone baked pizza and was not disappointed. Will have to try visit my little bro more often!

Great new local!

I came here for a friends birthday party in December. They'd hired the upstairs function room for free but me and my girlfriend arrived early and ended up having pizza downstairs before the festivities began. The food was amazing and we've been back several times since.

The pub can be a bit quiet but the atmosphere is always really relaxed and friendly. The Tuesday Quiz Night is good fun and I see they've started doing Classic Movie Nights in their upstairs bar which I will be checking out soon.

It's also a really good pub to watch football in, nice big HD screen and comfy seats!

Hidden Gem

This new local pub is a bit of a hidden gem! Standing proud on the corner of Arlington Square, The Hanbury Arms (formerly The Social) is a lovely place! The wood panelling, brass beer pumps and comfy leather sofas give it a warm traditional feel, as does the roaring pizza oven!

There is something for everyone on the broad pizza menu as well as a good selection of salads and deli platters and the quality and freshness of the ingredients is abundantly clear when you taste them.

The bar is also well stocked with myriad draught beers (Peroni, Kirin Ichiban, Erdinger,) Real Ales like Adnams and Bombardier and an extensive Wine List.

The jukebox downstairs is free and has a great mix old and new music and tucked away in the corner is a selection of classic board games which is always good fun. Nicely separate from the ground floor bar is the upstairs function room which is complete with pool table and big screen for all the footy and also available to hire for free.

Ultimately, this is a great new local pub and well worth a 5 minute stroll off the beaten track of Essex Road and Upper Street to experience.
