There is something for everyone at the Green Mantle whether it be pub quizes, folk sessions, student nights or sports nights.
The choice of drink is well varied and good priced.
The food is also fabulous, with their speciality "the buffalo burger" straight from puddledub farm.
The ingredients are free and well prepared and absolutely delicious!
Food served till 12am and bar open till 1am.
Overall great place!

Southside's best pub

5.0 out of 5.0

March 05, 2010

The Greenmantle Pub on Nicholson Street in Edinburgh is a friendly, welcoming pub that serves fantastic real ales and delicious food. This traditional Scottish pub has been given a modern twist with trendy decor and student-friendly deals but is suitable for anyone whether you want a quiet pint of quality real ale, a bite to eat, a pre-dinner/theatre drink or a good night full of banter the Greenmantle has it all. With a weekly games night on Mondays, Quiz night on Tuesdays, live music on Thursday and Saturday nights and Sunday afternoons and a poker night every Sunday it really does has something for everyone.

The food really sets the pub apart from others in the area with home-made soups, chilli, Shetland Bannocks and red onion marmalade to accompany their tasty Buffalo Burgers and Sausages from Puddledub farm in Fife along with a credit-crunch-busting 2 for £7 menu.

The Greenmantle is the Southside’s answer to a cracking pub.
