I've never been to the actual theatre here but there is a bar underneath (perhaps called Shuttleworths) that is one of central London's great secret bars.

Its a members bar (membership is something like £40 a year) however regular punters can come in before 8pm.

Its great - its always full of drunk actors and luvvies mixed with a healthy dose of media and music industry. Back in the day it would have a low floating haze of smoke that might trick you into thinking that some philosophical discussion was taking place in some far off corner.

Its open late - 4am maybe - oh and there are no windows (what with it being underground) which is dangerous - once locked into conversation you can emerge hours later, past the tube shutting, on a school night with nothing to look forward to but a hangover and a half recollected conversation.

Amazing.
