Trip To Jerusalem Inn

Castle Road
Nottingham NG1 6AA

This is the oldest pub in England dating from 1189 AD. It is so named because it was visited by the knights on their way to the crusades in the Holy Land. Many of the interior rooms of the inn are caves carved from the rock just above the Inn.

If you are visiting pubs in Nottingham, this one has to be on your list. Real Ales, real character, and built into the side of the rock. In the top room you can look up to see rock and a chimney hole at the top of the rook, carved out of the rock.
It can get very busy, but always seems to serve fairly quickly.
