Friendly Staff, Good Crowd

Met an old friend at this spot, one of his favorite locals. It was a busy Friday night and the place was packed, but we still received some great service from the bar staff. We snagged a pair of stools and settled into a few pints before being prompted by the friendly hostess to join in the bar quiz that she was handing out. Over a few more pints of Staropramen and Cider, we hashed out whether it was Theseus or Perseus who slew the Medusa, and I embarrassed myself with a total lack of knowledge of English television programs.
In some ways the Hen and Chickens is not a particularly notable pub, I suppose. I wouldn't say you need to hop on the bus and head over to check it out, but it has everything a local should - homey atmosphere, friendly employees, good beer and camaraderie between the punters (most of the teams were happily swapping answers with each other on the quiz). This place was a good night out.
