Divine Indian

Mint Leaf is a high end Indian restaurant (think Cinnamon Club) that caters to the business lunches as well as those looking for some inspiring and creative Indian cuisine. I’ve been a couple times now, both via a work lunch or dinner, and I always leave there happy – and full. The place is on the lower ground floor, but when you walk in, and although it’s decorated in more masculine tones such as dark wood and bamboo-type decor, it still eludes openness because of how large it is.
You enter into the bar which is long and they serve up some mean cocktails. I especially like their mojitos but all are good and the bartenders are clearly talented. The bar backs up to the restaurant and then there’s a large room in the back for big parties. All the table have white linens and the waitstaff are friendly and attentive.
The food: Think contemporary Indian. You won’t get chicken sag but you will get sag with a twist. Their lamb chops were amazing in a red curry spicy sauce. We also had yellow curried cottage cheese with raisins – very unique; mint peas with lemon rind – delicious; blackened lentils; and grilled calamari in Indian spices. All tasty. I over indulged on the chocolate/pistachio/orange tart with what I think was pistachio ice cream. Gooey, creamy chocolate decadence. Just what all us girls need to be happy.
