Tasty Turkish cuisine
August 10, 2007
This place is a real treat for those who live or work in Victoria. All their food is fresh, healthy and affordable. The decor is pleasant with wood tables, white plates and white cloth napkins, more upscale than most turkish restaurants in that price range. There are 2 rooms when you enter, one as the main dining room and the one off to the side that has a more Turkish-feel, with a round table in the window with cloth seats; more comfortable. I’ve only been there for lunch so have never sat in that room but it seems appropriate for larger parties. They also have a swanky bar downstairs where they serve cocktails.
For lunch when you order a main, you get a cold meze for free (worth over £4). I love their kebabs! I’ve had the monkfish kebab as well as the salmon kebab; both were grilled to perfection although the salmon was tastier. They give you more meat than you can eat and each plate also comes with either a side salad or a black eyed bean and red pepper salad. I can never finish my 2nd kebab so be hungry when you go. They also have the best dolmas I've ever had, with just enough nutmeg to make it sweat but still savory. A main is around £12. They also have another special where you can get 2 cold and 1 hot meze for £10.
Service was very good and attentive, but not over the top. I recommend this place for clients, friends, groups or after work parties.
