Dieters haven!
November 18, 2008
I've been thinking recently about why noone has opened a lunch spot for dieters - where all the food is low fat and yummy. There'd be a mix of hot and cold food, and no dish would have over 9 grams of fat. You could do low carb meals - but generally carbs are a good idea at lunchtime - where do you get the energy for the rest of your day otherwise? Anyway, totally unrelated ramble.
As you may have guessed I am on low-fat diet. I hate microwave food, Pret/Eat sandwiches (and to an extent Itsu) has so much fat in it that I wouldn't be able to eat anything else for the day, and as a vegetarian anything in a little caff involves cheese.
On my quest for low-fat veggie food I usually end up in Boots if I'm pressed for time because they sell those sandwiches in the green boxes that are called things like Bugsy or Thin Lizzie, which are pretty low fat but also their shapers range (the salads are pretty gross though). Apart from M&S's amazing 2g fat sandwich (veggie flatbread) there isn't that much in the area that I can eat apart from soup.
It's a bit uninspiring, but it is the refuge of the dieter. And you can collect advantage points to spend on free sandwiches when you're broke :)
