Latin Yumness at decent price
August 02, 2007
I had yet to discover many Latin American restaurants until I found Sabor. The decor is modern-loungy-funky with white walls, hot pink or orange tables and a long bar filled with colourful bottles. The drinks are pricey but worth it - £6 for their Margarita de Maracuya, their speciality which is like a passion fruit margarita. It was delicious and went down too easy. Their starters and mains are reasonably priced: £4-£6 for a starter and £10-£14 for a main.
I had the Ceviche Peruano which is cod filled cold- cooked with lime juice, chilli, ginger coriander served with sweet potatoes, red onions and toasted corn. It was amazing! My friend had their Argentinean steak marinated is special spices and grilled to perfection, again, top notch. And my husband had Lomo de Cerdo Relleno which is roasted pork loin stuffed with apples, prunes and apricots served with sweet potato mash and a tomato Sofrito. Yum!
The staff were so friendly. The owner is from Columbia and the waitress we had is as well. Sadly, none of the dishes are from Columbia. Hopefully we can get them to add that soon.
