Black Cod

4.0 out of 5.0

December 11, 2007

This is one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever been to. It was a treat for my birthday last year and I really enjoyed it. The food was nicely presented and also very tasty though the portion was tiny. My favourite was the Black Cod dish which was absolutely beautiful. The service was good too. It has been seen as a celebrity hangout. I still remember when we left the restaurant, there was a couple of cameramen at the entrance, who were prepared to flash the camera at any moment.

Decent sushi

3.0 out of 5.0

September 20, 2007

Dining at Nobu isn't always about the food. It is a well known celebrity hangout and the Berkeley Square bar is fun to get a drink at.

The sushi is decent enough. Good quality fish. Tempura is nice. All in all a pricey dinner.

There are better traditional Japanese restaurants out there, but if you are looking for a little bit of glam with your fish then you'll probably enjoy Nobu.

Handroll heaven

4.0 out of 5.0

August 03, 2007

I've been here a handful of times now and on average I'd say it's been pretty amazing food. The handrolls are probably the best I've had outside Japan! It's not cheap though - a meal for two with wine won't give you much change from £150. Avoid late slots on Saturday evening - the service just falls down a bit. But it's definitely worth a visit!

Top five meal of my life

5.0 out of 5.0

June 30, 2007

Wow, dinner at Nobu is an experience. Each and every dish was creative, intersting and delicious. Service was flawless.

Oh, and the wine list was damn fantastic.

Our meal at Nobu is in my top five all time meals, which includes The French Laundry and Gary Danko.
