Very nice and pleasant venue. The sound is great - the dancers are awesome -, the staff is pretty kind and the drink is not very pricey!

This is a really fun night out. When I went the band were superb and the atmosphere was brilliant. The professional dancers beforehand were incredibly talented. My only criticism would be that my food order was fotgotten! However, it was soon sorted and the rest of the night was superb.

Fun, different, recommended!

A friend of mine was planning to go to guanabara for her birthday and as I’d not been there before I had a look at some review sites and found mixed comments. Altough a lot of people had mentioned ‘great cocktail’s ‘authentic food, Brazilian party atmosphere’ etc I was a bit concerned by comments like the one below about the dirty toilets etc. I actually found the toilets to be really clean and actually very cool, with big ‘theatrical style’ dressing room bare light bulb type lighting surrounding the mirrors! So not only were the loos really clean, they were really funky too, with huge well lit mirrors; great for re-applying makeup! So I can only think the toilets must have been re-vamped since that review was written! Just wanted to point that out incase any other potential customers were put off reading those comments too! Guanbara is a really good place for a celebration, we had a great time, did a samba class and drank cocktails while we watched a live band. I shall definitely be returning for my birthday!

This place is amazing! Dancing is the main thing here, whether you're good or bad everyone has a go on the dance floor. Lovely Braziliian cocktails and beers makes a nice change from the usual bars and clubs.

Happy Hour? Icon_featured_sm

I went to Guanabara last Friday night as one of the crowd had recommended the cocktails - and of course the "Happy Hour". I'd heard of this place but had never been before so I was quite keen to see what all the fuss was about. When I got to the entrance I was quite disappointed and unsure where to go as it looked like the entrance to a snack bar. Once I had navigated three escalators I eventually entered what I can only describe as an amazing space, it looked like a theatre (which it used to be) and it seemed as though we had arrived at the dress circle....in time for happy hour.

There were a few of us and some people ordered cocktails and others beer. On the whole the drinks were good and cheap (£3 for a cocktail or beer, during happy hour) although nothing to write home about.

I had overcome my initial disappointment at the entrance but that was to reappear as soon as I paid a visit to the toilets - they looked as though they were the same as when this place was a theatre, and seemed no to have been cleaned since then either!
I would only recommend that you go here for the cheap drinks and to check out the old building but stay any longer and risk using the toilets at your own peril.

Busy, Boistrous, Brazilian

I attended a party thrown at this club on Drury Lane a few weeks back. Although the line was stretching out the door, we were able to enter quickly enough and headed upstairs to the large bar and dance floor. It was well past dinner time, but it's worth noting that this place does serve Brazilian food, and several groups that were wrapping up their meals looked suitably stuffed. Brazilian and Argentinian beers are on offer, as well as a variety of mixed drinks of a distinctively fruity variety (lots of smashed up strawberries and sugar cane). Good live music, a nice vibe, and even a set of foosball tables over by the second (!!!) bar made this a great place to party with a few hundred of my closest friends.

I had one of my best nights in London here not so long ago. Nice crowd and a great vibe. They had an act that was a mix of ska, funk n hip hop that blew me away.
