True too it's name and inexpensive honest no frills Chinese food, not a rip off shop.

'Mrs Boss' the owner has run the place for as many years that I have been eating at the Friendly, (scary that's a decade) with her very individual iron fist of charm.

Totally inexpense as far as the West end and China Town go, and a fun dinning experience, the wine is a mixed bag, but value for money, the food is spot on and consistent every time that I have visited with my friends who are a fussy lot themselves. The set menu is a bargain with lot's of options of mixed plates of food, great for sharing.

The staff are indeed friendly, this coupled with the size of the restaurant, giving a welcoming feeling amongst diners. Mrs Boss has recently refurbished to a modern minimal from the previous 80's Swiss ski lodge theme of old (I miss the old).

Always about to makes sure you have a great meal, usually at a table with her bowl of lychies, munching away overseeing all that goes on. Known to write the odd expense receipt for lunch or dinner in Chinese.

Her motto 'Customers to always leave happy.
