The Defectors Weld

170 Uxbridge Road

The Defectors Weld is owned by the same people as the Lock Tavern in Camden, and is similarly decorated, with the standard set of decks in the corner. The pub has two floors, with upstairs proving a welcome relief when downstairs gets too busy. Food is served during the day and evening, including an excellent Sunday roast.

Shepherd's bush Gem

I agree with the previous post, The Weld is probably the best out of a bad bunch in Shepherd's Bush BUT - this doesn't mean it should be put down. I like the busy atmosphere, and the funky music is great. I also think the cocktails there are really worth a try, fresh fruit is used and they have some sort of deal on in the evenings at weekends (buy one get one for a pound) which is always handy.

Shepherds delight, almost.

wannabe trendy: It's as trendy as Shepherds Bush gets. 30 something crowd, filled with after work BBC employees from up the road during the week, slightly younger crowd at weekends. Ebb and flow of Shepherds Bush Empire gig goers makes for an interesting night or two sometimes. Usual gastro pub fayre - square pies, big burgers etc. DJ at weekends and sunday afternoon. Good upstairs seating, too big to be cosy but enough sofas for a quiet night with a few friends. Friendly doorstaff keep out the local troublemakers.
Best of a bad bunch of pubs in the area.
