Italian Fish lovers delight
June 01, 2008
Fresh, raw oysters on the half shell were the first thing that delighted me the other day when a group of us went to Pescatori. And the wonderful green olive oil served with their breads that tasted likes it just came from the olive orchard in Tuscany. I then had a grilled vegetable with buffalo mozzarella starter but the mozzarella wasn’t teh typical kind you get perfectly shaped; this looked like a poached egg and it was delicious. Pescatori obviously prides themselves on fresh ingredients. I then had the seafood “stew” which comprised of a massive lobster leg, mussels, clams, large prawns and octopus in a dark, paprika broth. I ate every piece. Very light but filling too. Being the fish lover I am, Pescatori doesn’t disappoint. Everyone at my table was happy with their meal.
Prices are about £7-8 for a starter and £15-25 for a main. Service was great – attentive but not aggressive. Location perfect – you can’t beat sitting out on Charlotte Street on a gorgeous day and even the times I’ve eaten inside, it’s a nice rustic, Italian feel.
