nasty nails

1.0 out of 5.0

I went to Hawkeye last night with a friend to have our nails done. I was really looking forward to being pampered with a manicure, but the result was rubbish. I don't think I've ever had such a bad french manicure! The "nail technician" didn't even bother to file my nails properly and the white tips were all different widths. I did comment, but she didn't seem to take any notice. I will certainly never go back there and neither will my friend. It's ridiculously overpriced at £33 when it doesn't even last you out the door.

I have been going to Hawkeye for 4 years now, even though some staff have come and gone the standards have never slipped. My hair is not the easiest to tame but no matter who i'm booked in with the results are always a winner. The reason i like Hawkeye is because unlike some other salons they are always evolving in products and offer a range of services. Like the Brazilian blowdry or even having ur nails done, which i am a huge fan of, so many colours! I'm never stuck for choice. With friendly atmosphere, i never feel just like a client but meeting up with friends.

...are lovely, I've had so many compliments about them. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and the salon is in a central location (not far from the shops). It was the first time I'd gone there but I'll definately be coming back. Thumbs up, its a must!!

I absolutely love this place, the location, the ambience and the customer service is very refreshing, especially after a stressful day at work its nice to go and have someone pamper me and do my nails as well as engaging in great conversation. The girls have great personalities as well as being 100% professional. I get my nails done every 2 weeks and I wouldn't go anywhere else they are done to a very high Standard with a perfect finish!.

Check it out I know you'll absolutely love it!!!!!

completely ruined my nails

The customer service (when it all went wrong) was very good as is the location. However, the damage done to my nails will take months to heal.

I went for a biosculpt gel nail overlay. The lady removed my gels by filling down through the (thin) gel and through over 60% of my natural nail bed.(As one would do to remove acrylic)
This has left me with painful, thin nails- which are constantly breaking from the middle of the nail bed and peeling.

My nails were naturally very long and strong it took me months of care and expensive 2week appointments- at a decent salon in Warwick to achieve what I had, in preparation for a wedding and graduation.

In one short £50 appointment at hawkeye 2mnths ago- this has all been reversed. Although I received £100 compensation from the manager gerry- who was very apologetic- it has not compensated the money it took to get my nails the way they were, or the money I have since spent to try to save my nails-and nothing can compensate the physical pain I suffered during the two weeks after the appointment- since my nails were so thin it was painful to touch.

Furthermore- even if the gels had been soaked off properly- the finished product was awful- the nails were sticky and damp and so dirt etc became stuck to the corners near the cuticles. Furthermore- as she was filing down the debris was not wiped off- instead gel was laid over the filings - leaving the gels looking and feeling gritty and messy.

I won't go anywhere else for my hair

Update: Cissi has now move to 28 D'Arblay around the corner so I now go there.

And it's because of Cissi who works there. They lease out the chairs and I've heard all of them do a great job, but when you find someone who knows exactly what you want and what will look good on you, you don't go anywhere else. That's how Cissi is. And she won't cut or colour your hair if she won't think it'll look good. She's honest. She's good. And they serve wine/beer/coffee/etc and play good music.
