Perfect pancakes /Waffley versatile

This place is amazing - I've never taken anyone here and had them be disappointed.

The portions are generous, everything is made fresh and the menu options impressive (it's basically a handful of starters and then pancakes or waffles with stuff but the varieties of stuff available - both sweet and savoury - is substantial)

I'm allergic to egg so really shouldn't eat here but at least twice a year I'll get tempted in and it's always worth the pain it causes!

Only once had a problem with this place or it's staff and that was a slight miscommunication with a new girl which resulted in being brought a cappuccino instead of a cranberry juice and this was quickly and painlessly rectified.
IMO when that's the worst thing you can say about somewhere, you know you're on to a winner!

Inexpensive and so very, very tasty. I couldn't believe that a place like this could do so much good! I went with seven friends and it certainly cheered us all up!

I was a little hesitant at the varieties of pancake on offer at this ol' Dutch place (since it does savoury and sweet), but once the food started arriving, I gave my inner self a smack and shut the hell right up. The portions are HUMONGOUS and just absolutely divine! I must have had a piece of everyone's (well, we all started eating each other's) and it started to look like a weird Christmas family meal, with everyone leaning over the table, grabbing another portion from elsewhere.

Some of the ones I tasted were:

- Grilled seafood tortilla pancake wrap (tortilla pancake filled with prawns, tuna, spinach, onion & cheese)
- Chilli con carne (chilli con carne with guacamole, sour cream & tortilla chips) £8.95
- Four cheeses
- Nicoise (tuna, anchovy fillets, egg, green salad, olives & croutons)
- Toasted nachos with melted cheese v
with guacamole, sour cream & salsa sauce
- Amsterdammer (sautéed apple & smoked bacon with maple syrup)

And, for dessert (on waffles):

- Dutch waffle with fruit berry compote with ice cream

So, as you can see. Weird menu choices, but I can assure you, THEY WORK!

We also got a little cocky and assumed they'd be small and went for ordering a couple of courses. Foolish, rookie mistake. The portions are enough to make you skip your next meal (apart from the ones that just come with sugar and lemon).

You won't regret eating here. TWO courses for SEVEN FIFTY?! Bargain.

The only issue we had was that they took a little while to serve the mains and some of us were left staring at an empty table. Basically, if some of you order starters and some of you order mains, and some of you order desserts, they'll time it all so that they make sure everyone is going to be finished at the same time. So, some of you are left to stare into space and watch your friends eat.
