Ah the Sporting Life...

Where to watch the game if you're caught short near Liverpool Street? The Barracuda Bar's the place for you. It happened to us one Saturday when a crucial Super 14 rugby game was on and someone remembered a sports themed bar in the area called The Springbok. Sensing we were onto a good thing we arrived to find the name change and revamp hadn't extented to the sports theme or indeed the larger-than-life mural of Percy Montgomery!

Although it's big and spacious it does get rammed for major matches, but fear not, for in the event you can't see either of 2 big screens properly there are 20 or so plasma's dotted around. There's a roped-off raised area you can pre-book, but if you get there early enough you should get a good spot, and table-service means you won't even have to scrum at the bar.

There's an extensive range of worldly wines, international beers and a great selection of buffet, canapé and tailor made menus. Pool tables, Karaoke, Pub Quiz and other theme nights to keep you busy the rest of the time. I've heard it pumps on a Friday night when there's a DJ playing cheesy choons from the late 70's to recent hits.
